What Clothes Should You Wear?
Wear everyday casual clothing in solid, contrasting colors (dark blue, black, burgundy, green, or deep red). These colors stand out sharply against the pure white background. Avoid wearing white or light-grey shirts, as they blend directly into the background, making you look like a floating head in automated scans.
Strictly Prohibited Clothing & Accessories
- Eyeglasses: 100% prohibited for US passports since 2016.
- Uniforms: Military, police, airline, or commercial uniforms are prohibited.
- Hats & Headbands: Caps and fashion headbands are banned (religious headwear is allowed with a signed statement).
- Wireless Earbuds & Headphones: Must be removed completely.
